Rival AI companies signed one warning: AI cyberattacks get far more widespread within months

OpenAI published the letter; Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and more than one hundred twenty other organizations signed beside it. Every fix is an ask, and the clock they set is measured in months.

Who signed, and why that is the story

What changes at work if employers listen

A giant cream letter tilted on a dark navy ground, carrying the OpenAI mark and the headline A Call for Collective Action on Cyber Defense over rows of abstract signature strokes and a chip reading 128 signatures. Beside it, large text reads Rivals signed, nothing binds, over the line AI labs, banks, insurers, GM. A cyan-edged tag says attacks scale in the coming months.

Two people work at a wooden bench in a small warehouse studio at night, stacked shipping boxes and a desk lamp behind them. A woman in the foreground taps a phone cabled to a large monitor while a man stands behind her with his arms folded, watching. The monitor shows a vertical flow of connected step cards with a checklist down one side; its own text is too small and indistinct to read. Four small blue-lit cubes sit in a row along the cable where it meets the screen.

Two men walk through a mostly empty office floor at dusk, past rows of desks still sheathed in protective plastic. One carries an open laptop with the monday.com logo on its lid; the other holds a set of keys. Through a glass partition on the right a small team works at lit desks in the adjacent room, a city skyline beyond the windows, with a few thin blue lines running from the empty floor across to the occupied one.

Two researchers sit at a plain table on a mezzanine, heads together over a tablet showing a document, laptops and a red notebook beside them. Through the full-height glass wall behind them a crowd fills the sunlit plaza below, and as it recedes the figures resolve into repeating copies of the same few people, arranged in a grid.

A woman in a navy jacket sits by the window of a commuter train, scrolling a social feed on her phone. A spray of glowing nodes rises from the screen: a bright blue cluster on the left carrying profile photographs of real faces, and a dimmer teal branch on the right whose nodes are empty grey circles that fade out. Other passengers and a city skyline are visible beyond her.

Four men sit along one side of a table in a darkened studio, watching a laptop one of them is typing on. A narrow blue line of light runs out of the laptop into a small glass lens on the table, where it re-emerges as two far broader orange beams that widen away across the surface. The man at the right of the group is depicted as Elon Musk.
